ingredients
- 1 cup fresh lemon juice
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 4 cups cold water
- 1 lemon, thinly sliced
- 1 cup ice cubes
steps
1. make the syrup
combine the sugar with 1 cup of the water in a saucepan. heat until the sugar dissolves, then let it cool.
2. juice the lemons
juice enough lemons to get 1 cup of fresh juice — 6 to 8 lemons, depending on size. strain the seeds.
3. combine
mix the lemon juice, cooled syrup, and the remaining 3 cups of cold water in a pitcher. stir well.
4. serve
add the sliced lemon and ice. chill or serve immediately.
