ingredients
- 3 cups raw apple cider vinegar
- 0.5 cup fresh horseradish, grated
- 6 garlic cloves, smashed
- 0.5 cup fresh ginger, sliced
- 1 orange, sliced with peel
- 3 tbsp raw honey
- 1 tsp cayenne pepper
steps
1. layer the aromatics
layer the horseradish, garlic, ginger, orange slices, and cayenne into a large glass jar.
2. cover with vinegar
pour apple cider vinegar over everything until fully submerged.
3. steep
seal and steep in a cool, dark place, shaking daily.
4. strain and sweeten
strain out the solids, stir in raw honey to taste, and bottle.

this is an old folk recipe, not a new one — horseradish and garlic in vinegar have been somebody's grandmother's cure for longer than any of us have been juicing.
